Retiring 15 years ago, Shirley has devoted herself to photography. The first 40 years of her adult life were spent teaching in public primary schools, and she loved it. However, Shirley knew that she wanted to do something different when she left her former career.
Retirement offered the privilege of time that she had not experienced before. She has used this time not only to acquire new skills and knowledge in the digital era, but also to build a new creative life.
Shirley has immersed herself in learning and has become more confident in her style. She has been the beneficiary of numerous workshops and courses both here and overseas. Teaching and mentoring remain essential to her, and she now enjoys supporting others in the field of photography.
