The Methods of Creative Imagination

This interactive 8-week course explores various methods of creative imagination and artistic expression. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and guided exercises, participants will develop their ability to generate ideas, tap into their creativity, and express themselves through different mediums. The course will incorporate visual arts, writing, movement, and performance, offering a multidisciplinary approach to creativity.

Schedule: Sundays, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand different techniques of creative imagination.
  • Develop personal creative practices to enhance artistic expression.
  • Experiment with various mediums, including visual art, writing, movement, and mixed media.
  • Gain confidence in expressing ideas through creative work.
  • Learn how to break creative blocks and generate new ideas.

Course Requirements

  • No prior artistic experience is required.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or sketchbook.
  • Some materials will be provided, but participants may bring their own art supplies.

Method of Delivery

  • Hands-on workshops and creative exercises.
  • Group discussions and individual reflections.
  • Guided visual, writing, and movement-based activities.

Assessment and Feedback

  • Self-reflection and creative journals.
  • Group discussions and peer feedback.
  • Final project showcasing personal creative growth.

Meet Your Teacher

Nasser Palangi

Nasser Palangi is a prominent Australian-Iranian multidisciplinary artist and lecturer. His creative journey has spanned continents, cultures, and artistic mediums, encompassing painting, installation, sculpture, photography, and digital art. This diverse range of mediums is a testament to his versatility and his ability to explore complex themes such as nature, heritage, history, and identity, particularly within the contexts of the Middle East and Australia. His works also address critical global issues, including ethics, politics, social dynamics, and sustainability.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.

2. Cancellations

  • There is no refund if you do not attend your lesson.

3. Make-Up Lessons

  • If a lesson was canceled for unforeseen circumstances, a make-up lesson will be offered after the initial end date of the course.

5. Health and Safety

  • Participants must disclose any medical conditions that might affect their ability to participate.
  • While on our premises please take duty of care towards other participants, the artworks, and equipment.
  • Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated and will cause the termination of your participation without refund.

6. Class size and Changes

  • the art classes have limited capacity and will be catered to maximum 10 people. Any exceptions will be communicated in advance.
