The Methods of Artistic Anatomy
Unlock your creative potential in this eight-week immersive course that explores the methods of artistic anatomy and expression in visual art. Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, illustrator, or an aspiring artist seeking to refine your understanding of the human form, this course offers a dynamic, hands-on approach to studying anatomy and developing artistic techniques for figure drawing. Through observational studies, classical and contemporary methods, and guided exercises, participants will enhance their ability to depict the human body with accuracy, movement, and expression.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand anatomical structures for artistic representation
- Develop a strong foundation in proportion, movement & gesture
- Experiment with different drawing techniques & materials
- Gain confidence in life drawing & stylized anatomical expression
Course Requirements
- No prior artistic experience is required.
- Bring a sketchbook & drawing tools (pencils, charcoal, ink, etc.)
- Some materials provided, but additional personal art supplies welcome
Method of Delivery
- Hands-on workshops and creative exercises.
- Group discussions and individual reflections.
- Guided visual, writing, and movement-based activities.
Assessment and Feedback
- Self-reflection and creative journals.
- Group discussions and peer feedback.
- Final project showcasing personal creative growth.
Meet Your Teacher
Vida Irani
Vida Irani was born in 1978 in Tehran, Iran. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Azad University, Tehran. She immigrated to Sydney in 2010. Finally pursuing her true passion of studying the Arts, Vida completed a Diploma of Screen and Media at Sydney Film School in 2016, and she has since written and directed several short films. For the last year she has been exploring methods of creative imagination with renowned Iranian Australian artist Dr Nasser Palangi and these artworks are the result of that exploration.

1. Booking and Payment
- Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.
2. Cancellations
- There is no refund if you do not attend your lesson.
3. Make-Up Lessons
- If a lesson was canceled for unforeseen circumstances, a make-up lesson will be offered after the initial end date of the course.
5. Health and Safety
- Participants must disclose any medical conditions that might affect their ability to participate.
- While on our premises please take duty of care towards other participants, the artworks, and equipment.
- Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated and will cause the termination of your participation without refund.
6. Class size and Changes
- the art classes have limited capacity and will be catered to maximum 10 people. Any exceptions will be communicated in advance.
