Our Team

Amin Palangi is an arts leader, curator, and cultural producer with a strong track record of championing diverse voices and stories. He is the founder and director of the Persian Film Festival in Australia, which since 2011 has become a vibrant platform for cross-cultural dialogue and artistic exchange.

With over a decade of experience curating programs, developing exhibitions, and fostering collaborations across the arts, Amin has worked extensively at the intersection of film, visual art, and community engagement. He has served on the Screen NSW Film and Television Industry Advisory Committee and has taught creative practice at UNSW and AFTRS, mentoring the next generation of storytellers and artists.

As Gallery Director, Amin brings his vision for creating spaces that are inclusive, innovative, and globally connected—championing both emerging and established artists while cultivating meaningful connections between audiences and the arts.

Farideh Zariv holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Tehran University, a Master’s Degree in Curating and Cultural Leadership from UNSW Art & Design, and a Master’s Degree in Visual Art from the Australian National University (ANU).

With over two decades of experience in gallery management and curation, she has served as the Director of Amin Art Gallery for 20 years, the Director of Middle East Art Gallery for 5 years, and the Director and Curator of Cure 8 Art Gallery in Oman for 4 years. Her expertise spans exhibition curation, cultural programming, and fostering artistic dialogue within international and regional contexts. A practicing artist for over 35 years, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide and has presented solo exhibitions in major museums, including Iziko Museum (South Africa), Canberra Museum and Art Gallery (Australia), and Bait Al Zubair Museum (Oman).

Born in Italy and relocating to Australia in 2015, Alessandra Mafodda brings over 20 years of international experience in sales, marketing, and brand positioning. She has worked with leading global brands including Campari, Ferrero, Ducati, and Lamborghini, specialising in growth strategies, client engagement, and brand development.

Her decade-long collaboration with fashion houses sharpened her eye for design and visual storytelling, complementing her passion for the arts. As Marketing Manager, Alessandra combines global expertise with creative insight to grow audiences and strengthen the gallery’s role as a vibrant cultural hub.

Nasser Palangi is a prominent Australian-Iranian multidisciplinary artist and lecturer. His creative journey has spanned continents, cultures, and artistic mediums, encompassing painting, installation, sculpture, photography, and digital art.

This diverse range of mediums is a testament to his versatility and his ability to explore complex themes such as nature, heritage, history, and identity, particularly within the contexts of the Middle East and Australia. His works also address critical global issues, including ethics, politics, social dynamics, and sustainability.
